Rainwater Harvesting Direct Pumped Systems make up the vast majority of rainwater harvesters sold in the UK. They do not require a header tank in the loft as the water is pumped directly to the toilet and appliances. These harvesting systems generate a good pressure, suitable for washing machines that are used to the pressure from a direct mains feed and suitable for high pressure garden hoses. However, the control mechanism is likely to be more complex and more likely to fail.
